Cyber Incident Disrupts IT Systems at Saratoga Springs City Hall in New York

City, state, and federal law enforcement are investigating a cyber incident that disrupted the information technology systems at Saratoga Springs City Hall in New York, discovered by IT staff on the evening of June 25, 2024. While the city website remains operational, many IT functions, including email and electronic records access, are down, with the network taken offline to aid the investigation. The Commissioner of Finance advised contacting city officials by phone and assured that health and safety functions are unaffected. The police department's 911 calls have been rerouted to the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department, and city employees are advised not to use their computers, though offline functions are available.
