North Miami City Hall Closed Amid Possible Cyberattack, City Services on Hold

North Miami, Florida, City Hall has been closed since Sunday, August 4, 2024, due to a possible cyber breach, leaving residents frustrated as essential city services, including permits, payments, billing, and passport services, are on hold. The breach, which has disrupted the city's network systems, has prompted an investigation involving the FBI, Miami-Dade police, and North Miami police. City officials have not confirmed if any personal or financial data has been compromised. Meanwhile, emergency services, including the 911 call center, remain fully operational. Mayor Alix Desulme stated that manual steps have been taken to secure payroll, and city staff are working on plans to restore some services. The mayor is expected to receive a briefing on the situation soon, but there is no word yet on when City Hall will reopen to the public.
